Cautious Patient Communities
A Cautious Patient Community (CPC)
is a local group where patients and families learn how to be informed and involved in their healthcare. This leads to better healthcare outcomes, as well as a sense of no longer being an outsider in your own care!
Why do we need Cautious Patient Communities?
Because today's healthcare is:
fast-paced; quantity-driven; impersonal; over-burdened; often profit-driven; often haphazard; often error-riddled;
too-many-patients, too-little-time, too-many-studies-to-read, too-many-procedures, too-many-bureaucratic-hassles, too-little-time-for-thought, too-busy-to-get-it-right, and too many patients and families who have had a tragic loss.
We have developed:
Cautious Patient Communities — local groups that meet together to learn more about being responsible and effective advocates for yourselves and your loved ones.
In Cautious Patient Communities, we encourage participants to be:
Informed about their own illnesses. It can be easy to obtain information and to be informed. Internet research on respected sites can be a gold mine!
Involved in their healthcare. There is a successful way to approach doctors to get best results. We teach respectful insistence on getting the care you need.
Informed and involved — iPatients!
